We are an Australian rental company providing electrical and furniture rentals to the home and business markets. Each Oze Rentals franchise is a highly independent, ‘hands-on’ business where the franchisee is personally involved in the daily operations.
As an Oze Rentals franchise owner, you will be totally self-directed in your day-to-day work. Coupled with that freedom, you’ll also have the confidence of knowing that our proven business model maximises the safety of your investment.
You won’t be left on your own, however. After your initial training, you’ll receive strong marketing and administrative support from our Head Office, plus comprehensive client management through our web-based contract system.
Powerful, Agile Business Model
There are so many advantages to our business model, it’s hard to know where to begin.
At Oze Rentals, overheads are kept low, warehouse and office space are rarely needed, and staffing can be kept to an absolute minimum. In fact, it is fully feasible to run the franchise as a solo operator with no additional staff. Alternatively, you can employ people and minimise your workload, it’s up to you.
We have a long list of great reasons for clients to deal with us. As just one example, our clients have an almost unlimited range of options when choosing rental products, unlike many of our competitors who carry only restricted product lines. Our clients love this, and it makes us very popular.

How is this all possible?
It’s basically due to our simple sales model, dubbed Choose, Call & Rent™. Clients can choose any product they like, whether directly from a retail store, a catalogue, a TV ad, or the internet. They then call us and tell us what they are looking for. After qualifying the client for a rental, we then purchase the product and rent it to them. Simple.
This does mean we pay more for stock on average than other operators who buy in bulk. However, this is largely made up for by strong purchasing relationships with large retail stores, and huge savings on storage and property overheads.
This also means you are in control of your own stock purchases. Because you don’t buy stock through Head Office, there’s no chance of any inflated cost of goods in the franchisor/franchisee relationship. (We’re all happiest that way.)
Once you are established in your area, you’ll find there’s plenty of client demand. Most of our business comes from word of mouth, with only small amounts of intermittent advertising needed to maintain a strong presence. Given the similarity of the rental industry to the credit industry, you’ll find that getting new clients is rarely an issue. Rather, the key to your business will be qualifying the right ones.
We have an effective qualifying system that ensures we make plenty of rental contracts while still keeping client defaults to a minimum. Testing has proven our enquiry management process to be well balanced, giving us access to a deep portion of the market while maintaining the stability that is necessary for a secure revenue base.
Furthermore, as an Oze Rentals operator, you will receive your own exclusive territory. We will never adjust this territory without your consent, and we won’t encroach upon it with new operators in the area. Your clients will stay your clients, guaranteed. (Unless they move – we can’t stop them, sorry!)
An interesting fact about the rental industry is that it tends to thrive when the rest of the economy is in a downturn. This means that even in difficult times, Oze Rentals is still able to pull a profit, and often performs even better in a recession!

Our franchise fees are among the most affordable in the industry. Here’s what you’ll be up for:
Franchise purchase fee: $45,000 + GST
Of this purchase cost, $16k goes toward your franchise startup package, including all training time and materials, uniforms, documents, and initial marketing.

You’ll also need working capital for:
- The purchase of goods for rental contracts
- A delivery van that meets our guidelines
- A few other sundry costs for the startup process, depending on how you operate (e.g. whether you choose to rent an office space, which is often useful but not mandatory)
Ongoing working capital required will also vary depending upon the sales growth of your new franchise.
Financing options for rental stock may be available, but private working capital is preferable. Please let us know if you would like to discuss financing further.
